The UK faces dual policy requirements for improved business productivity and progression to a low carbon economy to achieve Net Zero by 2050 or earlier. SQW is currently working on a study exploring how productivity measures could be redefined for Cleantech SMEs to reflect environmental outcomes and stimulate more low carbon impact investing.

Advancing Dental Care (ADC), led by HEE's Dental Deans, is a programme of work that was established in 2017 to develop a dental education and training infrastructure that supplies a dental workforce with the skills to respond to the changing oral health needs of patients and services. This is aligned with the vision set out in the NHS Long Term Plan, which includes action on supporting the health of the population through a focus on prevention and reducing health inequalities. ADC has been identified as a key enabler for delivering the dental workforce objectives that were laid out in the NHS Interim People Plan. This includes the exploration of more flexible dental training pathways to enhance recruitment and retention within the NHS, exploring new skill-mix models and working towards addressing geographical workforce shortages.

Social prescribing continues to gain increasing prominence and importance in policy and practice. SQW has been commissioned by Historic England to undertake a study to explore Historic England’s work relating to wellbeing outcomes, and to identify potential social prescribing opportunities.

Advanced Teacher Status (ATS) is the badge of advanced professional practice and mastery in further education and training. SQW is working with the Education and Training Foundation (ETF) and the Society for Education and Training (SET) to ensure that ATS is positioned as the gold standard in teaching in the FE and training sector. This standard will contribute to the ETF’s and SET’s goals to strive for excellence within the sector workforce.

The ETF has commissioned SQW to evaluate its Practitioner Research Programme between 2018 and 2020. The programme is delivered in partnership with the University of Sunderland (SUNCETT) and is available to practitioners across England working in the Further Education and Training sector.
