Evaluation Study of the Implementation of the European Innovation Partnership (EIP-AGRI)

Client: European Commission DG Agriculture and Rural Development

In 2012, the European Commission launched five European Innovation Partnerships (EIPs) as part of an initiative to improve the research and innovation chain. The initiative was to combine EU, national and regional efforts in R&D and demand-side measures in order to help achieve targets more quickly and efficiently.

SQW joined a consortium led by Coffey to produce a formative evaluation of EIP-AGRI, the agricultural EIP, which was set up to improve productivity and sustainability in the agricultural sector. The study aimed to evaluate the relevance, effectiveness, efficiency and EU added value of the implementation of the EIP-AGRI by Member States and the support provided by the EIP network. The methodology involved developing case studies on several European regions, conducting stakeholder consultations and undertaking desk-based data analysis.

The final report was published in November 2016 and can be accessed here
