Economic Impact Assessment of Norse Group Companies

Client: The Norse Group

The Norse Group brings together Norse Property Services (property consultancy), Norse Commercial Services (facilities management) and care provider, NorseCare to deliver services across the UK.

In 2012, SQW was commissioned by The Norse Group to undertake an economic impact assessment of the three operating divisions. The assessment provided estimates of the direct, indirect and induced employment and Gross Value Added supported by Norse in both Norfolk (where the Group originated and is based) and elsewhere across the UK.

Since the completion of this overall group assessment, SQW has been comissioned to undertake similiar studies assessing the economic impact of Norse Group companies in their local areas of operation (e.g. in Barnsley, Devon, Enfield, Newport, Leeds and London). These spatially-focused studies, considered the firm's supply chain, the wages and salaries it pays staff and how this benefits the local economy in each area. The spatial-focused analyses also considered the wider impact of Norse's corporate social responsibility (CSR) actions, environmental standards and training activity.
