Heritage 2022 Interim Evaluation Update

The British Film Institute’s Heritage 2022 Programme is a National Lottery funded preservation-led Programme. It has been designed to safeguard at-risk culturally significant collections held at the BFI National Archive and the Regional and National Film Archives across the UK so that they are accessible to future generations. It has seven strands which focus on: Videotape Digitisation, Paper, Film Prints, Film Digitisation, Rights, Access and Data. The Programme contributes to the BFI’s ambition to ensure that everyone in the UK, regardless of location, will be able to enjoy more of the UK’s moving image heritage.

Following an earlier mid-term assessment of the Programme, SQW has been commissioned to undertake an interim evaluation of the Programme, and provide an early view of its scale, outputs and impact. The work will build on the mid-term evaluation of the programme and include updated analysis of monitoring data and documents, as well as primary fieldwork with key stakeholders.
