In January 2021, The National Lottery Community Fund launched the Dormant Assets NI Phase 1 Grant Programme, which offered grants to VCSE sector organisations in Northern Ireland (NI) to fund activities seeking to build their capacity, resilience and sustainability. SQW was commissioned to evaluate the Grant Programme in November 2023, with the evaluation running to May 2025.

In 2023, SQW was commissioned by Ploughshare Innovations Limited to assess the economic and wider benefits of the commercialisation activities that it delivers. This was intended to provide an update to previous assessments completed by SQW in 2015, 2017 and 2021.

In 2023, GOTT commissioned SQW to undertake an early evaluation of its activities to date. Specifically, the evaluation sought evidence on the effectiveness of the support GOTT has given to its clients and on how it is perceived by public sector stakeholders.
August 2024
In November 2023, on behalf of the Judicial Diversity Forum and with funding from the Ministry of Justice (MoJ), the Legal Services Board (LSB) commissioned SQW to profile the diversity of the judicial talent pipeline. This research focused on mapping, analysing and visualising secondary data (including from individual legal regulators) about diversity at different stages of the judicial pipeline.
August 2024
In November 2022 Homes England commissioned SQW to carry out a research study to capture the fiscal and wellbeing impacts associated with housing for older people. SQW, supported by Qa Research, Joanne Smithson of the What Works Centre for Wellbeing, and Colin Warnock Associates, undertook a research study to develop evidence of the wellbeing and fiscal impacts associated with the provision of housing for older people, so that these can be used in economic appraisals and value for money assessments.

The Transforming Food Production (TFP) Challenge programme was delivered by UKRI and set an ambitious goal “to accelerate the development and adoption of integrated precision approaches that will improve the productivity and resilience of primary food production systems and, at the same time, to set the sector on a trajectory to net zero emissions by 2040”. SQW led a four year evaluation of the programme for UKRI.
