The NHS Long Term Plan sets an ambitious and challenging agenda for the NHS. It covers a wide range of issues including: births and early years; addressing major health issues; and supporting people to age well. It also includes a range of commitments around engaging individuals in their own care and service integration. Since its publication, the Covid-19 pandemic has exacerbated the pressure on local systems to deliver timely, quality care against a backdrop of growing demand.
