Fatima Husain

Fatima Husain has extensive experience of designing and leading mixed-methods evaluations and specialises in logic model development and implementation and process evaluations. Her portfolio of work includes feasibility studies, small scale evaluations of pilot interventions as well as randomised control trials in school settings. She has led also on the design of studies on sensitive topics such as forced marriage, extremism, and election fraud.

Fatima’s other areas of expertise lie in the use of traditional and innovative qualitative methods to engage marginalised and disadvantaged groups including children and young people. She has conducted research with diverse groups including refugee communities, families living in poverty, benefit recipients, young carers, the homeless, and older people. 

Prior to joining SQW in June 2020, Fatima worked at the National Centre for Social Research and most recently headed their Children and Families team.  She has designed and directed projects for a range of clients including the Department for Education, the Home Office, the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, the Welsh Government, the Education Endowment Foundation, The National Lottery Community Fund, Save the Children UK and the Lumos Foundation.
