Research Consultant – Edinburgh
Salary: c£18,000 plus benefits

We are looking for a bright, motivated Research Consultant for our Edinburgh office to join our Research Consultant Development Programme in early 2012.
Our Research Consultants typically work in a number of different market areas in order to gain a breadth of experience. Initial assignments may typically include background research, analysis of surveys, telephone and field interviewing and report writing. There are opportunities to make a real contribution early on. Within a short period of time, Research Consultants are given responsibility for whole tasks within projects, such as survey management and literature reviews. The RC Development Programme provides structure and support during your first two years with the firm and includes internal and external training, giving you the opportunity to network with your peers in other offices and with colleagues across SQW more widely.
You will have a minimum of a 2.1 first degree in a discipline such as economics, politics, geography, science policy or sustainable development and will preferably also have a Masters in a relevant discipline. Strong quantitative skills are important. You will also have some relevant post-graduate employment experience, gained perhaps within a public sector organisation or working in a consultancy or research environment in a related field. You will be ambitious and work to high standards, whilst taking responsibility for your own development in a supportive and challenging environment.
