Evaluation of Supplementary Programmes for Schools
Client: Greater London Authority
Since 2012, the Greater London Authority (GLA) has operated the Supplementary Programmes for Schools.
The initiative seeks to test the effectiveness of four different school-based interventions aimed at improving outcomes for an estimated 1,8000 disadvantaged young people in 15 London boroughs.
SQW was appointed by the GLA in early 2013 to undertake a longitudinal evaluation of the Supplementary Programmes for Schools.
The evaluation used a range of different approaches including analysis of evidence drawn from administrative data, school and pupil statistics, and surveys and consultations to assess the impact and value for money of each intervention, and the programme as a whole, with teachers, pupils, and delivery agencies across London and its boroughs.
